Welcome Post

Hi ladies,

Welcome to the Together Blog! We’re glad you’re here and hope you find connection, encouragement, and truth in our posts.

Of course, we’d prefer to be together in person, sipping coffee and cracking jokes, but with 600 women or so at Covenant Fellowship Church, it’s tricky to make that happen. (If anyone’s building a 100 x 100 sunporch off the back of her house, let us know.)

So we’re harnessing the power of the internet for the sake of good fellowship and meeting together here on the blog. We’ve got big plans!

So Many People

Have you ever sat in the auditorium at church and thought, “There are so many women here; I wish I knew more of them,” or, “I bet somebody here has gone through what I’m going through, but how would I ever find her?”

I have. I know there is so much godly wisdom all around me—rows and rows of moving life stories, hard-won battles, and faithful examples—but I can’t go tapping everyone on the shoulder asking awkward questions. Or can I?

That’s what this blog is for. We’re going to tap women on the shoulders and hear their stories. So the older lady who always sits in the back row? You’re going to hear about the huge lesson God taught her through hardship. The young mom whose shoes you admired? She’s going to share all she’s learning about patience from her defiant toddler. The tall single woman in the lobby? Wait til you hear how God met her recently through his Word.

What To Expect

We’ll be enjoying both articles and interviews featuring CFC women. The posts won’t be professionally written, and the interviews won’t contain celebrity drama. These are just ordinary women, sisters in Christ, sharing their lives. Their non-airbrushed photos will be attached so you can meet them at church. Our goal is not to build a virtual community, but rather to use the blog as a springboard to jump into real flesh and blood friendships with women around us. You might just want to meet the lady with the great shoes, ask her where she shops, and draw her out about a situation you’re facing that is similar to hers.

Hebrews 3:13 tells us to, “encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Last time I checked, it was still “today” so we better get going.

Stop by for some wisdom, encouragement, and a few good laughs from the women you see every week at church but may not have the pleasure of knowing–yet. And if you ever feel a little tap on your shoulder, it may be your turn to be the storyteller.
