Hi ladies! I’m Katie Roman, and I serve in Covenant’s College Life ministry. I started serving with College Life as a board member in February of 2020–boy, what a time to join a ministry! I only got to experience a little bit of it before COVID hit and we had to rework things on Zoom. For a while there, I was trying to remember faces and names while attempting to make connections during discussions as best I could over a computer screen. Despite my doubts, the Lord again proved faithful by very clearly meeting each one of us during those online sessions, using us to spur one another in his Word during such a challenging time.
Now that we’ve been back together for some time, my responsibilities as a leader have expanded to helping set up on Sundays, aiding in discussion, and discipling younger women. I absolutely love getting to have fellowship with these students. Whether that’s pouring into ladies one-on-one or being intentional about getting to know different people over lunch, building relationships with this group has been fun and life-giving. Sure, I may be leading them, but these students always end up teaching me so much.
I am so excited for this school semester as we’ll be getting back on campus for outreach and evangelism, and we’re planning more fellowship nights filled with prayer, worship, and hanging out.
